I regularly look at my dad's blog data which is more far reaching in diversity than mine.

Day 2019 - Metaphorically speaking all my scabs fell off one night too and I thought of words from MY dad's memoir....

Except from mu dads's memoir, "How I survived Auschwitz and Buchenwald concentration camps" on Kindle, Amazon and Google.  



"One day, in a little cell like room, I became covered all over with big scabs, like Job in the Bible story.  Lacking in vitamins I suppose, or the food, I don't know! Maybe it was the fleas, lice and bug bites gone septic but it took its time to show up!

One night, I felt desperate and started meditating and was at the point of giving up when I came closer to God.  I even felt ready to confess to any priest and ask forgiveness for sins I hadn't even committed!

We were given time off to see a German priest in the chapel across from our cells.  Of course, we were closely guarded.  A man in a German uniform gave us a sermon and some prisoners asked if he could do anything to help us, to which he responded, "I will try."  I am afraid the man could do nothing at all, it was out of his hands but he certainly tried.

Then in all this,  my scabs fell off, in one night,  by themselves and what a relief that was more divine than any priest or traditional taboo could have achieved for me."

Day 2018 - 14,000 people have accessed my dad;s story..... way to go dad from up there above and beyond!!

If accessing my dad's memoir for the first time your have to scroll back to Day 1 -  to get to the beginning of my dad's story - Oh Dear! but it is worth it!  You could also get the big picture using a backwards perspective!  After about posting 120 days  I started adding random extras in formation which may spoil the blog for you  depending on your perspective!

Day 186 - Happy Life...

Went with my son on Thursday for the opening of Star Wars!  Just read opening day garnered in about 57 million in sales.  Amazing!.

The movie evoked memories of my dad's memoir which has become  a Blue Print/Prototype for helping me to Navigate and to succeed through the dark side of life.... 

The Movie referred a lot to the word Resistance - I am proud of what my dad achieved in his Life as a member of The Resistance in World War II - he came out of a potentially negative experience as a very positive human being fully aware that our life consists of both both good and bad....and able to make the best of his life and his taught me to do the same.......I am in the process of getting my book and studying to be a Dynamic Therapist!!! I will get there.....possibly when I am 64.....its a long road!

DAY 185 - Rememberance Day 2016 - In fond memory of Louis Fynaut Belgian Survivor Buchenwald Concentration Camp from your daughter!

My dad led and pushed and pulled me to the gage but I had to walk through it alone and come to my own conclusions!

The biggest gift my dad left behind him was his memoir!  We have to find our own truth nobody can do it for you but they can help you on the path......

Buchenwald was a Class II camp with “Jedem das Seine” on the gate

I am currently reading the new book by Flink Whitlock, which is entitled The Beasts of Buchenwald.  The Beasts in the title are Ilse Koch and her husband, Karl Otto Koch, who was the Commandant of the camp.  I am not quite to the end yet, but so far, I have not seen any mention that Buchenwald was a Class II camp.  In January 1941, Heinrich Himmler had designated Buchenwald as the only Class II camp and Mauthausen and Gusen as the only Class III camps.

What did these classifications mean and why is this so important?  Well, to give you an idea of the importance, the main Auschwitz camp was a Class I camp.  Class I camps had a sign on the gatehouse that read “Arbeit Macht Frei” and non-Jewish political prisoners had a chance of being released.  According to the Auschwitz Museum, 1,500 non-Jewish prisoners were released from the Auschwitz main camp.   Buchenwald had a sign on the gate that read “Jedem das Seine” and the prisoners had almost no chance of being released.

The “Jedem das Seine” sign on the gate faced the inside of the camp, so that it could be easily read by the prisoners.  This sign can be translated as “To Each his Own” or as “Everyone gets what he deserves.”  The class III Mauthausen camp, which had been designated as “Rückkehr unerwünscht” (Return undesirable) had no sign on the gate and prisoners had no chance of being released.
